专访：“围棋魅力妙不可言”——访开封籍围棋九段国手刘小光

"The charm of Weiqi is beyond words" --an interview with the 9-dan player Liu Xiaoguang

“围棋魅力妙不可言，只有亲身感悟才会乐在其中。”开封籍围棋九段国手刘小光在举办于河南省开封市的第35届“晚报杯”全国业余围棋锦标赛比赛期间接受河南日报记者专访时说。

"The charm of Weiqi is beyond words. Only when you try it can you truly enjoy it." said Liu Xiaoguang, a 9-dan Weiqi player from Kaifeng City, at the 35th "Wanbao Cup" National Amateur Weiqi Championship.

近年来，河南围棋运动高水平迅速发展。其中，开封市多措并举传承弘扬围棋文化，2021年，开封市被中国围棋协会授予“全国围棋之乡”称号；今年，中国围棋协会主席林建超为开封颁授“国际围棋文化交流中心”牌匾。此外，开封市有33所学校和幼儿园被中国围棋协会确定为全国特色围棋学校和幼儿园，位列全国中等城市第一。

In recent years, Henan Weiqi has developed rapidly at a high level, and Kaifeng has contributed to promoting Weiqi culture. In 2021, Kaifeng was awarded the "Hometown of Weiqi in China" by the Chinese Weiqi Association (CWA). This year, Lin Jianchao, chairman of CWA, presented the" International Weiqi Culture Exchange Center" plaque to Kaifeng City.

In addition, 33 schools and kindergartens in Kaifeng have been acknowledged by CWA as national distinctive schools and kindergartens featuring Weiqi, ranking1st among medium-sized cities in China.

刘小光九段说：“围棋文化传播首先要厚植土壤，潜移默化中让公众感受围棋魅力。开封市实施‘一动一静’体育强市战略，推动围棋进校园活动，营造了浓郁的围棋文化氛围，为围棋普及产生积极影响。此外，通过搭建桥梁，组建队伍，让棋手在比赛中提高技艺水平，感悟竞技精神。近年来，河南围棋协会成立职业围棋队、省少年围棋赛，推动‘国手战’、‘晚报杯’等一系列全国围棋品牌赛事落户河南。这些都为公众感受围棋魅力，推动围棋文化传播打下了坚实基础。”

"Creating an educational environment is foremost to disseminate the Weiqi culture and make citizens feel the charm of Weiqi imperceptibly," said Liu. He added that Kaifeng City had taken measures to promote building a leading city in sports, positively influencing the popularization of Weiqi.

刘小光九段还积极推动中国围棋文化“出海”，他多次在美国、德国、以色列等地举办围棋指导赛、围棋棋艺讲座，向西方分享中国围棋智慧。谈及中国围棋文化对外传播，刘小光九段指出，一要深刻理解中西方行事逻辑差异，美国前国务卿基辛格认为要“从围棋来看中国的行事逻辑，”同样，我们要从国际象棋、桥牌等研究西方受众的逻辑思维，减少传播阻力；二是加强国际宣传力度，借鉴少林武术国际传播经验，推动围棋文化多模态传播。

Liu also actively promotes the "going out" of Chinese Weiqi culture. He has held many lectures and instructive competitions in the United States, Germany, and Israel. Liu pointed out that, to better disseminate Chinese Weiqi culture, we should learn about the thinking pattern of the Western people from chess and bridge. Also, we need to strengthen the international publicity capacity of Chinese Weiqi culture by learning from the dissemination experience of Shaolin martial art. 

“希望大家都能试着下一下围棋，”刘小光九段说，“如果大家能够对围棋产生兴趣，不断钻研，围棋的魅力会让我们终生受益。”

"I hope everyone can try it." said Liu, "If you develop an interest in Weiqi and keep studying it, its charm will benefit you for a life time."
