Zhoukou is a large agricultural and grain-producing city, with a total annual grain output of more than 9 billion kg, ranking first in Henan province. It is said that both Emperor Fuxi and Emperor Yan established capitals here in Zhoukou, making it a major birthplace of Taoism, farming culture and Chinese surname culture.
