The past decade has witnessed Shangqiu's rapid development of all programs. For example, the city's GDP has exceeded 300 billion yuan, 1080 kilometers of road have opened to traffic, and 649,000 poor people have emerged from poverty. In China, 85 percent of steer tapes and 70 percent of lab-grown diamond micron powders are made in the city.
