Today's idiom: 精忠报国(jīng zhōng bào guó)
The idiom is from The History of the Northern Dynasties. It refers to an ancient Chinese fable in which Yue Fei, a famous general of the Southern Song Dynasty, wants to fight against the invaders and can not bear to leave his home (now Tangyin County, Henan Province). To encourage him, his mother tattoos four Chinese characters, "尽忠报国," on his back. Later, these words evolve into "精忠报国" which means "serving the country with absolute loyalty."

该成语出自唐·李延寿《北史·颜之仪传》。至今流传最广的典故为，南宋名将岳飞欲投戎抗敌，又不忍离家（今河南汤阴县），母亲为激励他，在其后背刺“尽忠报国”四个大字。后演化为“精忠报国”，指为国家竭尽忠诚，牺牲一切。
